Upon completion of the apprenticeship, individuals are eligible to take the Journeyman’s test.

The United Association Plumbers offers an apprenticeship to those who are interested in becoming a plumber. It is a five-year apprenticeship that provides 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year. You will also attend 224 hours of classroom instruction each year. After the five-year term, you will have multiple necessary certifications to become a licensed plumber.
This program only accepts applications in the second and third weeks of January each year. Each applicant goes through testing and a personal interview to determine eligibility for the program.
The Plumbing Academy makes it easy to learn everything you need to know about plumbing online from the comfort of your own home. All of the online classes are “live” and run from 6pm to 9pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on which tier class you are in. They offer five different tiers, and you will start with tier one.
After all five tiers are completed, you will have finished 550 classroom hours. In addition, you will also need to complete 6,800 hours of on-the-job training with a licensed plumber. This course does not offer on-the-job training.
