Vancouver CITC
The CITC in Vancouver offers a plumbing apprenticeship that teaches you how to install, assemble, and repair fittings, pipes, and fixtures. The program will provide you with the 10,000 on-the-job hours and 864 RSI hours needed to complete.
You must be 18 years or older with proof of a high school diploma or GED. It is also required that you had a C average or better in algebra and geometry.
In addition to the apprenticeship offered, CITC also has individual courses on their website that you can purchase. You can also purchase exam prep which will help ensure that you are prepped and ready for the licensing exam.
Washington State Plumber Trainee Program
To become a plumber in Washington, you have to start out as a plumber trainee. With this program you will work under the direct supervision of a plumber who is already certified that will teach you everything you need to know.
You can be 16 years old to apply for a plumber trainee certificate in the state of Washington. You will need to report your hours of experience in the form of an affidavit to ensure that you are getting your work done under proper supervision. If the hours are not properly supervised, you will not receive credit.
It is also important that you have an electrical training card during this training program if you are going to be working with pumps and irrigation systems. You will need to complete 8 hours of continuing education every year in order to keep your certificate in good standing.

Penn Foster offers an online plumbing course that allows you to finish in as little as six months. You can develop a career as a plumbing technician, steam fitter technician, pipefitter technician, or fire sprinkler installer with your completed diploma from Penn Foster.
In this course you will learn all about modern plumbing including plumbing drawings, fittings, and codes. You will have plenty of practice applying these skills in multiple scenarios. You will also learn math for plumbers and how it is used in the career.
The Plumbing Academy
The Plumbing Academy makes it easy to learn the plumbing trade online with live classes for you to join. The classes run from 6pm to 9pm, making it so anyone interested can watch them. You will achieve the necessary 550 hours of education needed to get your plumbing license.
